李明道（Akibo）是臺灣資深的商業設計師與藝術家，在早期電腦尚未普及之際，他便開始大量運用電腦作為創作工具，加上求新多變的個性與興趣，更增添他天馬行空的創作靈感，其作品擁有個人獨特的視覺品牌。所設計的平面作品廣泛，如唱片封面、海報、廣告、展場及演唱會場等各類設計等，包括張惠妹、五月天、陳昇、伍佰、羅大佑等多位知名歌手都曾與他合作。

整體而言，其作品以結合本土特色與華麗繁複著稱，除了視覺意象極為強烈的商業設計作品，李明道在2000年之後，藉由多媒體科技、互動式的電子裝置，發展出一系列質感纖細、造型光滑流線、充滿童心想像與科技感的機器人家族。其動機原從一個單純的點出發—即設計一個可以陪伴兒子的機器人，讓看起來科技化、沒有人性的機器人，也能傳達某種人性溫暖的情感。

此次在「Akibo+ 李明道Design+Fine Arts個展」中，將展出其歷年設計與藝術作品代表作，包含流行音樂包裝、海報設計及機器人系列平面及立體作品。

Li Ming-dao (Akibo) is a veteran commercial designer and artist in Taiwan. Before the popularization of computers, he began to rely heavily on computers as his creative tool. Together with his personality and interests in seeking novelty and variety, they further enhanced his boundless creative inspirations, in turn endowing his creations with an individual, unique visual brand. His graphic designs cover a wide range of fields such as record covers, posters, advertisements, exhibition venue and concert designs. Renowned singers such as A-mei, Mayday, Bobby Chen, Wu Bai, Luo Da-you etc. have all collaborated with him.

Generally speaking, his artworks are renowned for a fusion of local characteristics and extravagant complexity; besides commercial designs with strong visual imageries, through the application of multimedia technology and interactive electronic devices, Akibo has also developed a delicate textured, smooth, streamlined robot family series that are endowed with childlike imagination and high technology after 2000. His motivation was derived from a simple intention of designing a robot that can accompany his son, so that the seemingly high-tech, lifeless robots can also convey warmth of the human touch.

In the Akibo Design + Fine Arts Solo Exhibition, his iconic designs and artistic creations from over the years will be displayed, including pop music packaging, poster design and graphic/stereoscopic designs from his robot series.
